Pumped Up.. WHAT?!

Hi there you all. well, it's Tuesday and here at the Wilgraf's it's officially been over 24 hours since Lyla and her Mommy have been out of the house :/ this sore throat is still hangin  strong.. it's weird it kinda come and goes. ugh.. I was hoping a GREAT night's sleep would help. So I took some nite time cold medicine and watched a movie and hit the sack last night.. only to get up around 15 times with Ly :( I don't know what the deal is.. if she doesn't feel good or getting a tooth or what. So this morning with her bottle I gave her a little ibuprofen and a little tummy medicine from when she  spit up all the time and we took a much needed 2 hour nap together. She seems  fine  now! sometimes I think she has bad dreams. is that crazy? anyway, hopefully tonight is better and I can join the girls for drinks tomorrow night. I'm thinking a little tanning therapy might  be in the plan tonight, and, well, will help with getting  me out of this house. Brandon acutally came home yesterday and asked "what happened to the house?!" uh, yeah, that's what it looks like when Momma don't feel good, get over it. lol.
ON with the show. So this song has been on my mind lately. You know it. All the other kids with the pumped up kicks.. and so on.  Happy, peppy, nice beat. great right? no. Let's read the lyrics.

"Pumped Up Kicks"
Robert's got a quick hand.
He'll look around the room, he won't tell you his plan.
He's got a rolled cigarette, hanging out his mouth he's a cowboy kid.
Yeah, he found a six shooter gun.
In his dad's closet hidden with a box of fun things, and I don't even know what.
But he's coming for you, yeah he's coming for you.

[Chorus: x2]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, outrun my gun.
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet.

Daddy works a long day.
He'll be coming home late, he's coming home late.
And he's bringing me a dark surprise.
'Cause dinner's in the kitchen and it's packed in ice.
I've waited for a long time.
Yeah the sleight of my hand is now a quick-pull trigger,
I reason with my cigarette,
And say your hair's on fire, you must have lost your wits, yeah.

[Chorus: x2]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, outrun my gun.
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet.

[Whistling]

[Chorus: x3]
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, outrun my gun.
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks you'd better run, better run, faster than my bullet.

I don't know about you, but gives me chills. I know it's supposed to have a deep meaning and all that but there is just something about the lyrics that make singing along to it in my car just not seem right. Happy tune or not.. it's just a weird feeling when you find out the words.

In other news. Since I don't feel very good I have the excuse to take many breaks  from my daily cleaning and running around.. which gives me the time to plan my dream wedding on Pinterest. Yep, I get it now. But I think a lot of people find this shiz on their own and then post it.. not me. lol. I just copy other peoples stuff. BUT I'm gonna share a few of my "pins" from my board "Wishful Thinking"

can you imagine the way I can dress Lyla up?! I mean, depending on how old she is.  At this rate she will be 30 and telling me how to dress.

ah, I love this! In white of course. Yes, short dress please.
and since I'll probly get married in a barn. The class act we are.
I mean, great idea, huh? my feet always hurt by the end of the night.. and if you time it right, you can get flip flops CHEAP.

Ok ok that's all I got for now. Lyla just stuck her hand in the toilet again.. bath time.

A hunting Wilgraf Weekend

Happy Monday. sike.
Ugh, I think I am getting sick :( I am having hot/cold flashes and my throat looks like raw hamburger. yummy. uck. I thought it was a little sore over the weekend but I just ignored it, thought it was just dry from the heat running so much. oh well. Stay at home moms get to sleep all the time, right? right....
Well, last week Tuesday started Brandon's weekend. He took a half day Tuesday and just went back today. The life of a dad. Hunt hunt hunt. Oh well.. I'll just tell you about my weekend.
Thursday night I had margs with Cassie and felt like crap Friday. lol. But it was so worth it. Kim met me later that night too and I got some great girl talk in. lol.
Friday night  Lyla and I went to the lighted parade with my mom and dad. It was awesome, but so so cold!
Lyla loved it though! and was all wrapped up in blankets super warm. what a life.
After the parade we headed home for some warm pjs and sleep. Lyla has finally given in and actually lets me rock her to sleep every once in a while! Love love love it.
Saturday we were up at 5:30 because that's how we roll. After we were fed and clothed I decided to run to target to get formula and Lyla hung out at Grandma's. Do you know how I felt pushing a cart around target with  a peppermint mocha and actually stopping to look at things I liked? heaven. After I got back I ran home to put my stuff away because Lyla was sleeping and by the time I got back my mom wanted to go to Maurices. Ahhh, i love that store. But why do they never have sales?! I feel like I pay full price for everything. yuck. That evening Sarah and Jack came over to watch movies. Well, not too much movie watching gets in with two babies but it was still nice to be home and relaxing.. after my baby went to sleep!
Sunday was the Red Bud Christmas walk. I have been wanting to go so bad so I talked Kim into it. Well, the weather was so nasty that Lyla couldn't be out. So off to grandma's she went. Kim and I went to have lunch at Tequila's and then went to the office.. and never left. I blame it all on the weather. I would have liked to go to a store or two but the rain and cold just was not appetizing at all. So we stayed put. But had a great time. and thanks to Sarah I scored me some pea soup. yum!
we also had one of the Office's drinks for the day. Every bar was competing for the best winter drink. Obviously this is the only one I tried. lol, I loved it.. Kim not so much.
Hope you had a good weekend! Turkey day is coming up!!

A Wilgraf Weekend whaaaa?!

Oh hey. you want to hear about our weekend don't you?!?! lol. ok, I'll tell ya.
WTF is up with this weather?! I want to wear hoodies and sweaters and here I am, November 14, 2011, wearing capris and a t shirt and sweating as I do the dishes. ugh. and don't let me get started on the sinus issues. yuck.. but I guess we did get some of the dead crap tore out of our yard this weekend so I can't complain too much.
Let's start with Thursday. Because back when I actually stuck with this blogging stuff I started on Thursdays. I like Thursdays. It was Cassie's birthday that day. So it was a margarita kinda evening. And Kim of course too. And their kids and their husbands. Where was mine you ask? Oh, ordering seed for next year. Really? IF it's not farming it's hunting... blah. Anyway. We had a fab evening of drinks (when the kids and husbands went home, jk) and telling people off. And you know what she got? The same TOMS I have. whatev. lol. Lyla got to spend the night at Grandma's that night because she was off work the next day. ahhh, Mommy got to sleep in Friday morning.
After I was well rested Friday we headed to Kohl's to check out some clothes and got the new Tim McGraw cologne for Brando. LOVE IT. That evening I left Lyla and her daddy snuggled up in the recliner and went to my friend Litney's Scentsy party. Ah, a sucker for that shiz. It was an early night tucked in bed <3
Brando was up bright and early Saturday to hunt and of course do whatever him and Tony do after they get done hunting.. for some reason they always come home pretty happy. Whatever floats their boat. Because they loaded up my old furniture for me and took it out to Brandon's dad's house for him to have. Cause we got new stuff!(new to us, thanks Heather) That evening we went up to Red Bud and got our new stuff, with the help of my mom and dad, and set up our new living room. LOVE. And headed out to dinner at Mary's. Ah, I got super trashy I must say. Then got a ticket on the way home but that's another story:(
Sunday Brandon let me sleep in til 8!! wahoo. Then we were up and movin. He went outside with Lyla for a bit and started tearing out the dead sweet potato vines .. I don't think she liked the wind too much so she was back in to help Momma put away our fall decor. Brandon was of course off to hunt that afternoon. So my mom came down and helped me get Christmas stuff out and then took Lyla to her house for a while to get her off of my leg out of my hair. I got everything inside DONE and CLEAN. ahh, felt so nice. Me and Brandon got to go eat all by ourselves at Tequila's and picked Lyla up for her surprise when we got home.
it's beautiful.
Mom, did you see?!!
pretty girl:)
yay!!
and since we clap at everything these days.. :)

I have a feeling it might just be a magical Christmas season.

So there ya go, that was our weekend! Hope yours was great!! I think we may take Lyla to see the lighted parade on Friday and maybe the Christmas walk on Sunday! I LOVE CHRISTMAS.

pinapeppers.

I don't get Pinterest. I just don't? What am I missing? Maybe at nap time I'll give it another shot. lol. Trying to think is hard with a 20 pounder climbing up your legs saying "dada?".. I'm not giving up yet. And if I hear Rachel Ray use the phrase "diy" one more time I might lose it today. And Lyla won't give me the remote. Oh my life.
On with the show.
I thought I would tell you all about my lovely stuffed pepper experience. It's been a couple weeks ago now.. but you know how I roll.
It all started when I bought green peppers at the store just to cut up and eat with some dip. But Brandon pointed out that he LOVES stuffed peppers and I should try to make them sometime... agh. It just so happened that the next day Brandon's sister Heather dropped off a ton of green peppers cause they had a garden overload. I hear she is the stuffed pepper expert so I asked for a few tips and decided to go for it the next day. Well, I had a lot of running to do that day.. and I had to drop a few things off at Cassie's so I told her my plan. She said her mom is the BEST at stuffed peppers so I gave her a buzz too. After a lot of help from my bff google, Tina and Heather.. and of course some stolen ingredients out of my mom's kitchen.. my masterpiece was on it's way.
here are my hollowed out green peppers. I put a little V8 in them and in the pan.. idk if you are supposed to do that, but I did. lol.

Here is my stuffing mixture. I used gound beef and sausage mixed, a can of diced tomatoes not drained, tomato paste, and long grain wild rice. I also added salt and pepper, garlic powder, and the rice came with a packet of seasoning so I threw that in there too. That's the stuff I could find at home.. I think other people use tomato sauce. But I figured the juice from the diced tomatoes and the paste was like sauce, right? ha. OH I also (obviously) browned my meat before I stuffed the peppers. I just felt more comfortable that way.. I only drained it a little.

Here's what I stole from my mom.

Here's my peppers after stuffing them! I also poured V8 over the top of them. I don't know if that's weird. But that's what I did. I thought it would get the peppers to soften better. From here- I stuck them in the oven at 350 for an hour or so.  Then took them out, put cheese on them, and put them back in for about 10 more.
BOOYA. Looks good right?! they were.

I also had a couple sidekicks.. I can't take all the credit.

What would I change if I made them again??
I would drain the meat all the way. I thought since people made them with raw meat I shouldn't drain it, because maybe it made the peppers soften.. but it was too greasy. I would also use a little more rice and mix some cheese in my mixture. YUM!

Alright alright.. Hope you are all having a good Thursday. What do I want to thank today.. hmmm.
Thank you Kim and Kris for taking over our televisions. Oh good lord.
Thank you street cleaner guy for waking my baby up this morning when she probably would have slept in because it's so gloomy.
Thank you margarita's for making my gloomy day not so gloomy.. no, I'm not drinking yet, but looking forward to it. :)

bu-bye!

Halloween.. from Lyla's point of view.

Happy Halloween everybody!! My mom got me up and put me in this silly outfit just to take some pictures. So I played along.. for a while..

Stupid thing on my head. Why do you people think they are so cute. Dang! But hey, this is a good shot of my teeth, huh? I have been workin hard on them things.

A couple nights before Halloween my mom and dad called my babysitter and went out without me. They dressed up as Bert and Ernie. Scared the bajesus out of me. So I cried and cried to make them feel bad about it. I think they were gonna cry too so they just left. But I had a good night anyway.

Mom dressed me up as a pink elephant for Halloween. Does she know that elephant's aren't pink?? I wasn't thrilled at first. But I had my grandma and my binkie so I was ok.

We went to see so many people. Great Grandma and Grandpa Mattingly and Landgraf. I was pooped out. So I slept all the way home. Til we got back to see this guy:

Gosh I love my pawpaw. When he holds me I feel so big! I didn't care about the pink thing anymore.
Dad took me to see my Great Grandparents on his side and Grandpa Wilson.. but mom says he is no good at takin pictures.
Mom stayed home to pass out candy and she was pretty bummed because not too many kids came. But I made her feel all better with a big wet sloppy kiss.

When we got back Aunt Jill and Uncle Sean came over! They are so much fun.

Uncle Sean holds me up real high and I giggle at him.

And Aunt Jill gave me a Halloween present. It was a witch bear. And I kissed it right then and there.

Mom said it was time to take off my costume and change my diapie. But before she got another one on I stood right up and peed on the floor. Just a little show for Uncle Sean and Aunt Jill. Oh, and see this rubber duckie? I got that from Great Grandma. It's pretty cool.

My first Halloween was pretty neat! But I can't wait til next year when Mom and Dad let me eat candy!
