Outa bed, sleepy head!

I guess when you wake up Momma twice just making noises at night.. and then lay in bed laughing at your mobile all morning you are sleepy that day??
I got up two times last night and gave Lyla her pacifier so she would go back to sleep.. she wasn't crying.. just making noises. Then this morning she never started crying and I didn't wake up til 7:30 or so and when I went in there she was just staring at her monkeys on her mobile cracking up. Then she looked over at the giraffe on the side of her crib and talked to him for a while.. what baby does that?!?! so now she is sleeping. imagine that.
Yesterday we had a relaxing morning and played and played all afternoon. Grandma came down to get her hair done and Daddy came home early because work sent him home because of the weather. The weather was crazy!! When the sirens went off we went straight downstairs! Well.. except for Brandon who said he was makin sure everything was ok up here. lol, whatev.
Tryin to decide if I want to mow the grass before Brandon gets home today.. am I that nice? maybe. I feel so bad for him. Earlier this year his new leaf blower wouldn't start and now his "new to us" lawn mower won't start. By now we coulda just hired someone and it would be cheaper. haha. But hey, I could use the exercise push mowing right?! I did it while I was pregnant! what.a.sight.
 Anyway.. we had time to catch up on some tv the past few days.

WTF Wednesday

The other day Brandon saw the empty fish bowl under the sink and said "hey babe, did your fish die?!" yeah Brandon.. a couple days after Lyla was born.. almost three months ago! WTF. hahaha. rip ollie.

I was watching tv the other day and a Mother's Day commercial came on.. I yelled at the tv that mothers day was over!! WTF! Then I realized I was watching a DVR'd Glee....

Brandon asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday the other day and I said without hesitation.. "go to the courthouse?!" he said no. lol. WTF?! I had his 8 pound 7 ounce baby!

People not letting me write a check without an id. WTF. Hey, my check is not gonna bounce! Just because I didn't know where my license or my debit card was does not mean I am that irresponsible. haha.

Lyla has already pooped 3 times today and it's noon. wtf. hope she feels better!

Everytime I watch the weather the temps are hotter for this weekend! wtf!!?

The guy trying to stop the Hangover from being released. wtf. everybody wants a buck. Just be excited they think your tattoo is that sweet.

WTF. idiot.

Everytime I see my brother Sean he asks me if Lyla still sneezes. Well Sean, do you still sneeze?! He says its the cutest and funniest thing she does. He also just can't believe how much she likes him. WTF. lol.

Wtf are we doing on the internets?! We need to be getting ready to watch Oprah. Last.Show.Eveeerrrrr! lol. Thinking about taking a picture of Lyla watching it and putting it in her baby book... she'll probly say WTF Mom!

and we actually saw Stedman yesterday! I saw Oprah say WTF!

Another Wilgraf Weekend

Well, happy Monday. It's stormy here and I have a crabby baby. Yep, it's one of them days.
But surprisingly I am glad it's Monday. We had a very busy weekend and needless to say I need to catch up on some sleep.. like, bad.
Friday wasn't as busy. My mom took Lyla off my hands for a couple of hours after she got off work. She had plans with her kindergarten teacher buddies and I am pretty sure they enjoyed seeing Lyla too. I went to pick her up later and Sean and Jill were with her. So we got some pizza and spinach artichoke dip from the winery. (oh my lord if you haven't tried that dip it is the best.) Anyway.. by about nine we headed home and went to bed by ten. Well, Brandon wasn't home yet.. he was out checkin some crawdad traps. (don't ask.)
Saturday Lyla was up bright and early. We had a wedding at two.. and I was hoping she would sleep through it, so I was ok with her being up all morning. We got all ready to go and the wedding went great. Lyla was an angel! That was until we got back to Grandma's house.... I just don't think she was feelin the reception. She cried and cried and cried. But about a half hour before we had to leave she took a little nap and was happy again. Well, we lasted about 2 hours at the reception. Just long enough to eat and say hi. And I think everyone in my family had a little baby barf on them. Oh well. We love her. But that night she did do this:

Yeah, she held her own bottle for like 5 minutes! It was crazy. Her dad was cracking up.

Then Brandon made me watch the saddest movie ever. 

I know it's an old movie and I'm pretty sure all of my friends have probably seen it.. and I still haven't watched the whole thing from the beginning. But man oh man.. the end got me. I still have to say it was good though.. but I really don't get the whole bull riding thing.. and Brandon got really sick of asking questions. ha.

Well, Sunday was the biggest day of our weekend. It was Brandon's uncle Jim's benefit that we have been getting ready for. We had lots to do and thank God my Mom and Dad helped us out with Lyla or we would have been a disaster area. The benefit ended up being a MAJOR success. We had people lined up to the road waiting to get in! And the chicken was SO GOOD. I also was a huge fan of the silent auction. Even though I only ended up with one little item I bid on! Some lady out bid me by one dollar at the very last minute on one thing.. and by two dollars on another! Come on!!!! geeze. I mean.. some people were blocking the things they wanted at the end of the time! whoa it was nuts. My mom got some  pretty cool stuff though! A wine basket, a picnic basket cooler thing, a drink cooler, some awesome kitchen stuff, and I am sure I am missing a lot. They also had a live auction that Brandon went a little crazy at. But hey, I got a new purse and a kitchen full of desserts out of the deal. I think we have a new mailbox and someone that might mow our lawn too. hahaha. Yeah, again, don't ask. I heard the benefit made over 15,000 dollars. yeah, I'd say success. After we left we went on a little jeep ride with Tony and ate some awesome food at Lisa's in Rocher.

I've never been so glad to see Monday.. maybe I can relax a little tonight and Brandon will be on Lyla duty!:)

After not much sleep the night before.. Momma was a little stressed out yesterday. But we had a great supper, a walk and long baths.. and a happy house at bed time.

WTF Wednesday

Drove all the way to Waterloo yesterday behind someone with NO brake lights. WTF. I can guarantee if I was driving with something wrong with my vehicle I would be pulled over in the first 5 minutes.

I'm gonna give the new captain on the Cornelia Marie another WTF this week.

Tried to take a dress back yesterday and they wouldn't let me return it because it had already been returned off the credit card.. and I didn't have my license and they woudn't let me do anything else without it. Just exchange it lady! WTF!! What a mess.

I lost my id.. WTF?!

What a day.. and Lily-Mae!

Yesterday was Brandon's first day back to later hours. For the last year (well more than a year, but I don't know how long to tell you the truth.) he has been working 5-3:30.. and we got real used to him being off that early! But now he starts at 7 and gets off at 5:30.. I think the extra sleep in the morning will do him some good, cause he gets SO tired and that scares me so bad when he's driving that much.. but I know getting off that late will drive him nuts!

I went shopping yesterday to get a new dress and to Target to get formula.. cause you can't beat their price on formula! Then I went to see this little princess:

This is my friend Amanda's sweet baby girl Lily-Mae Scout. And let me tell you she is just precious! So so so tiny. Lyla was bigger than her when she was born! It was so weird seeing a baby that small.. I even got to change her diaper and she had the tiniest little butt! Her and Lyla are about exactly two months apart. (about exactly? really Erin?) And it's crazy how big of a difference 2 months makes! This baby was so quiet.. and Lyla doesn't shut up these days! And you could move Lily anywhere and it was so easy to change her diaper because she just layed there.. ha, Lyla kicks and hits ya til she gets her way. lol.

I just know Lily and Lyla are gonna be the best of friends.. cause they have some pretty cool moms.

After I left I called Brandon who told me he was on his way home too. It was about 8:30 and it takes him about a half hour to get home from the farm.. well.. when I got home at ten he was not here! After about 3 calls and 2 texts I about had a search party out for him. Thank God he called me back because I probably would have gave a few people quite a scare.. where was he you ask? Jans. shoulda known I guess?? But Erin, people were outside flaggin me down! lol. But oh man I was sweatin bullets. I just knew he fell asleep and ran off the road. I never knew I was such a worry wart!

Yesterday was a big day people. After getting home from grocery shopping it was time to give Lyla a bath.. I stripped her down while Brandon ran her bath and I noticed her toe nails were getting long. SO I trimmed her nails people. For the first time. haha. I have been pretty scared to do this.. Before now I was just peeling them off because that's what the nurses told me to do in the hospital. But last night I decided to clip them. It was a major deal.. but we survived!
THEN came the bath. Note to self: if Lyla's face turns red and you hear grunts..... you might have a surprise in the tub.

WHO ME?!?!

Hahaha and Mom just yelled for Dad who had to come in and take care of the situation. :)

A Wilgraf Weekend

Our weekend was packed full that's for sure!!
Well, Friday night we planned on going out to eat. Just to Mary's or somewhere.. but Lyla had other plans. She decided only Momma could hold her and she didn't want to go anywhere. I'm ok with that most of the time.. but do you know how hard it is to get ready when no one else can make her happy?! it's tough. It's seriously like.. Brandon sits down with her and she screams.. I take her out of his arms and she is completely content. ?!?!?! I know I spend all day with her.. but I DO NOT hold her all day!! Anyway. Brandon had a craving for some wings from Mary's and nothin was stoppin him. So he went and got supper there and we stayed home. Which was completely fine.. because momma got a long bath in.. and Lyla slept 9.5 hours that night! whew.
Saturday was the crazy day. At about 8:15 I dropped Lyla off at Sarah and Tony's and headed to do hair for a wedding. I had to do the bride and one of the bridesmaid's updos. I got back at about noon to pick her up and Sarah said she was great! Hardly a peep out of her.. well except for all the "talking" she does:) So I headed home where my mom was already waiting to pick her up for the night. Then I got ready for the wedding.. this is when I found out the dresses I bought didn't quite fit right after I washed them!! I don't even know why I washed them.. I just did. Sarah came over and I tried them on for her.. she said there was NO way I could wear the first one. Way too short. And the second one I would just have to be careful not to flash everyone my butt. (and it took a little while to zip up! haha.) I swear I tried them on and they were perfect! ugh. Anyway.. after I did Sarah's hair we headed to the wedding. It was outside and a little chilly! But everything went great and the bride was gorgeous. Then we headed to the reception. Everyone danced like crazy! Even the prego girls. hehe. And there was a photo booth.. I even convinced Brandon to go in with me! I stuck our photo in his back pocket afterwards and it is no where to be found now. ugh. Brandon insisted on wearing a cut off.
Sunday we slept in and went to pick up Lyla from my moms. Brandon wasn't feelin too hot.. but he sucked it up and went. We had his grandma's 75th birthday party that afternoon. Lyla was an angel child. We had a great time.. and after Brandon got some junk food and a couple beers in his belly he was feelin great again. We were home by 8:30 and everyone was in bed sleeping by ten. Lyla has been the best little sleeper ever lately! it's been great! Btw..I took NO pictures this weekend. Yeah.. dumb. I'll take a ton this week! Hope you all had a good weekend!!
Next weekend will be a busy one too! But if you aren't doing anything Sunday come down to the Steeleville Eagles for Brandon's uncles benefit. There will be chicken and beer and lots of other fun stuff! We are also selling tickets for a gun (don't ask me what kind) and a wagon load of booze. Let me know if you're interested!

Here's a day devoted to all the things that make you say "WTF?!"

WTF happened to spring?! ugh. too hot already.

This morning I go outside to get in the car to go to the store and I decide to take Brandon's truck since it was at the end.. and he comes running to the window telling me not to.. why?? chew. there was chew in his truck. WTF?!! He told me he quit!

WTF is up with old bottles smelling SO BAD?!

WTF did I buy cookies for again this morning?!

I saw gas the other day for 4.29 WTF!!!!

WTF is up with Evansville water tasting so horrible?! I only noticed after I got a filter pitcher thing.. oh man it's bad!! But my filtered water is oh so good.

Brandon just came running in here telling me NOT to BLOG about him!!! haha, he doesnt' even know what a blog is. WTF.

WTF is with the new boats on Deadliest Catch.. I don't like them. And the new captain on the Cornelia Marie.. don't even get me started. I'll give that another WTF.

WTF is with the Eville winery not opening til 7 on Fridays.. I know, I said this the other day.. but it really makes me say WTF!!

WTF is Brandon doing home today you ask?? Yeah, I woke up at 4:20 and woke him up.. and he called in. WTF!!!! I can't call in!!

Bloom where you are planted.

Here is our misshapen strange flower bed at the end of our driveway. I forgot to take a picture before we started but this is when I had pulled out all of the old "bricks" and placed them where I want to flower bed to go.. trying to explain it to Brandon..



Here it is after pulling out weeds and re-shaping.. I also planted some more flowers around it.. I am thinking about planting more in back or maybe just getting some cool stone to lay around it. Either way it definately needs something around it. But hey, it's getting there! And it looks a lot better than it did! Anyone who wants to take a guess on what the things in the front are let me know! ha, I coudln't decide whether to leave them, take them out or move them somewhere else.



here's an ugly pipe in our yard. I planted flowers around it. Ha, that's all about that. And I don't know why it flipped like that.. I took it the right way. weird.

And here's what my perfect little angel did while me and daddy worked on Mother's Day. She LOVES being outside and LOVES looking at the trees. And her daddy loves that she loves it! And she LOVES being nakey. she still had the cute little bloomers on from the pretty dress she wore to brunch. Her daddy prays she will grow out of the nakey thing.. :)

I'm addicted to blogging.
Ok, not really.. but it's just one of them days. Them days where you know you have 28 other things you need to be doing but you just want to write on your damn blog. Things like:
put away your kids newborn stuff that absolutely does not fit.. but I just don't want to drag the chair out of the dining room to get the tote down..
clean the rest of the house because you stopped when you had to feed your crabby, wants to be held all day baby..
fold the rest of the laundry that you got half way through last night before you fell asleep....
maybe try and make my house look like Babies R Us didn't barf all over it.
yeah, one of them days.
but Days of Our Lives is on and I just know that Sammy is going to get confused on which Rafe to believe. NO E.J.... Rafael is NOT dead.

And I finally got my little girl to sleep. A fussy little lady who has been awake fighting a nap since nine.
I do have some things on my mind.
LIKE whether or not to go shopping tonight when Deadliest Catch and the Voice is on.. dvr is great.. but it's just not as good when you don't see it with the rest of the world.
How aggravated I get when people use the wrong to/two/too.

And like how I lost ALL of my preggo weight right away and now I am slowly working on gaining it all back.. I think that cleanse my friend Amy was talking about today sounds pretty good. And I bet I would feel great after it was all said and done! But can I have my weekly trash wings?! And what about the drinking I will be doing over my birthday?! Decisions.

I think I'll talk about my plants now. Yesterday Lyla decided to take a little nap.. and Momma went straight outside with my video monitor (thank you Uncle Dustin and Aunt Melissa) and planted the rest of the flowers and worked up more of the flower bed we have been working on. I'm glad I got out there when I did cause I thought it was hot yesterday!! Yuck, I don't think I am ready for this humidity yet. Spring? What's that?

A Wilgraf Weekend

Well our weekend was great!! It definately involved some MUCH NEEDED Mommy/Daddy/Lyla time.
Friday afternoon Kim came over and we walked down to the winery around 4.. did you know they don't open til 7 on Fridays?! OMG. Yeah I was upset.. like didn't know what to do with myself. haha. No, really our night turned out great anyway! We went to the wonderful Evansville Food Mart and got ourselves some wine.. I was expecting some dusty old boxes to choose from, but instead they actually had a few good choices! So we headed home to bbq with our wine. It was great! Brandon can grill some steaks! and I made some potatoes on the grill. We had a little fire too and Brittany stopped by for a little chat. It was a great evening. Lyla enjoyed our walk down to the winery the most!

Saturday morning Grandma Karla came down and we headed to Drews to get some flowers to plant and I got some new pots to hang on the front porch.

That afternoon Lyla slept from 12:30 til 5!! so Mom had a lot of time to (take a nap) and get stuff done around the house!! It was great. That night Sarah watched Lyla for a little bit while Brandon and I went to eat at Marys. Gosh I love that place and it was SO NICE to eat with both hands and have a dinner alone with Brandon. And Sarah is SO GOOD with Lyla and I love it. Can't wait to meet her little baby boy! :)

Sunday was MY FIRST MOTHERS DAY!! And it was great. All 3 of us slept in til about 9.. got up and hung out around the house for a little bit, then went and had brunch at Tequilas. It was soooo yummy. and there's just something great about margs with breakfast:) We headed home after that to do some yard remodeling! I had lots of flowers to plant and lots of ideas in my head. One of our flower beds that was at our house when we bought it was just a weird shape.. and I hated it. So we are tearing that out and reshaping it. We still have a lot to get done but it is looking great! Daddy headed in after a while to give Lyla a bath and a bottle.. and let me stay outside and plant more flowers. Ahh it was nice to be out there and not have to worry about a thing. Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house to eat bbq with the family for mothers day. The best part of the day though was Lyla sleeping eight and a half hours last night!! Momma needed that for sure. It was a GREAT WEEKEND!!

Finally Friday!

I got my moter runnin for a wild weekend!!
Ha, ok not really. I've had enough craziness for a while! But you know what is pretty crazy?? This is my first MOTHERS DAY as a MOM. yeah, I'm a MOM. And I love every single second of it. It's pretty obvious I don't know everything.. but I am learning! And learning fast.. because she is growing so fast! Here's a picture of Lyla when we came home for the first time:

How crazy huh?! She is getting SO BIG! And it is amazing how strong she is getting. She loves to hold her head up on her own and she will even stand on your lap when you hold her up.

I love her so much and I can't wait to spend my first Mother's Day with my family.

Confession Friday

Ok so I am doing this confession Friday.. but I really don't like it. haha.. but I want to start doing "days" and I was checking out some other blogs and I think I came up with a few cute ideas! So we will see what next week brings. But for now....

I confess I do this:
Yep. That's my baby. In my bed. She usually wakes up when Brandon leaves and then up again around 7. After I feed her that time we both get in my bed. I just love it! And it's soo much darker in my room than hers and my bed is sooo much more comfy than hers. So she sleeps so good! And yeah, that's a burp cloth under her. Gotta save Daddy's pillow from the spittin queen! But come on, who wouldn't want to cuddle with her?!

I confess I have been eating wayyy too many cookies. Like, I eat every time Lyla eats. It's getting out of hand. But hey, I took a lot of walks this week.. that helps right?!

I confess put that smell good powder stuff on my carpet over an hour ago so I HAD to vacuum. Yeah, I just keep walking through it.

I confess Kim is coming over today and we are walking down to the Evansville winery and I can not wait. Can't stay too long but a little sip of some Fuzzy Fusion is just.what.I.need after this week.

I confess I had SO much fun on a bachelorette party last weekend.. but the whole time I thought about how much I missed my baby! I didn't think I would be like that at all. And I wasn't at first. I mean, don't get me wrong I missed her but I NEEDED some time away every once in a while. But now she is getting to be so much fun and it gets easier every day. (and I am getting more sleep) I just don't want to miss one thing! BUT I have to remind myself I need a life and I need friends in my life. But I am looking forward to spending this weekend with my little family:)

I confess I loved that it has rained so much. Yeah, it sucked at the same time.. but Brandon got to come home every night after work. And that does not happen much. I know when it dries out I will be all alone again.. but for now I am loving the sopping wet fields! Oh the life of a farmers wife... (ok, maybe someday)

Momma said there'd be days like this....

There'd be days like this my Momma said.
Yesterday was definately one of those days!! It all started out with Erin and Brandon not getting much sleep.. which never makes matters any better. Brandon took off work to help me take Lyla to the docor. Her appointment wasn't until 3, so of course he found the time in the morning to go turkey hunting. He didn't get a turkey.. that probably didn't help anything either! After bottles were washed and Lyla got a bath we headed out to lunch and to pick up pictures from Wal Mart. Lyla slept the whole time we had lunch at Tequila's, it was great! We both got to eat at the SAME TIME with BOTH HANDS! I said we need to go out during the day more often because evenings just don't work for the girl. She needs all Mommy's attention at supper time. Anyway, after we got done we headed to Waterloo to pick up pictures and then to Columbia to her doc appointment. It was her two month so she got her first round of shots :s The appointment didn't go bad.. other than peeing on the scale. haha. The nurse freaked out and said "can you tell I don't have kids?!" Yeah honey, but you are a pediatricians nurse. come on. And she weighed in at 11pounds 11 ounces. She's growin people!! Then we moved on to the other room where the doc sees her. She said she is looking GREAT. I asked about her spit up and he said since she is growing not to worry about it. (ugh) Hopefully she grows out of it? I feel so bad for her. I mean, would you want to throw up every time you ate?! poor baby. After the doc left the mean nurse came in. And I mean she was NOT NICE. ok, she was really nice.. but man oh man did my baby cry:( But we all survived. Daddy held her hands and I have never seen her squeeze so tight. Mommy stayed back and started sweating like a mad woman. By the time we left I was stripped down to a t-shirt. haha. After she was all done it was time for Lyla to eat. So I asked the nurse if we could just stay in there and feed her. Got the bottle out. Looked for the formula. Nothing. OMG more sweat. I forgot her formula. So she just kept crying. Finally the nurse came back in and I told her what was wrong and she grabbed some formula they had. Of course it was Similac.. and that's what started all these problems.. but it was food right? So we gave her just 2 ounces to hold her over.. and paid for it the rest of the day. Similac does NOT agree with Lyla. After the doc we bought some formula and headed to Great Grandma and Grandpa's house to feed her some good stuff. She took a little and we were on our way to see Brandon's uncle Jim in rehab after a stroke he had a couple months ago. We got lost. Why wouldn't we? But after we found the parking lot, and finally went in the right building we got there. He was doing really good and was SO happy to see Lyla. He hasn't seen her yet.. we tried a month or so ago and they wouldn't let us in the hospital because of flu season. By the time we got in the room and talked a while it was time for Lyla to eat again. I figured no big deal I'll go find a microwave and heat up her bottle. I saw a couple of nurses in the hall and asked for one. They said "for a baby bottle?!" I said yes. Wow. I got chewed out. I guess you are NOT supposed to put bottles in the microwave and I should have known this. One of them went to get me a cup with hot water and the other one kept talking. Didn't I ask my pediatrician about that?! I said you know.. I could ask him questions all.day.long. Finally she laid off and I stood around the corner and waited for the other one to come back.. and I could still hear the lady talking to her friend about bottles and microwaves. Really? I got tears in my eyes and walked back to the room... she can take a room temp bottle she just doens't like it as much. Then a nurse found me with the water. I mean really.. was there an instruction list that came out with her? Cause I guess I misplaced it. So Lyla ate a little and half way throught she was NOT HAPPY. She started crying and would not stop. It had to be her belly. So we got out of there. We finally got home and the screaming started again. My poor thing.. I gave her a little tylenol and some zantac and she finally calmed down after rocking her for about an hour. Then she slept great.. But yeah.. it was one of them days for sure. Momma needs a day to de-stress!

Here's my baby girl!! Two months old. Time is flyin by!! Grandma got her this outfit.. it has a crab on the butt and it fits Lyla's mood sometimes just perfect.. ahh just kidding baby. You're not a crab butt, love you!!

I'm new...

Well. this is officially my first post! I'm trying to figure this whole blog thing out.. it might take some time with a very slow internet connection and a two month old! I'll try my best. BUT I guarantee it gets a lot cooler with time. You just wait. ha. I am pretty much just doing this because I've had so many people tell me I need to.. and, well, I want to brag about my baby without annoying my facebook friends too much! That's all for now, promise I'll have a better post next time;)
